NSP services in Durban are back in business...

After 2,5 years of continuous lobbying by our partners, TB HIV Care and other stakeholders in the harm reduction field, such as NACOSA, the NSP, recommenced services on Monday 29th of June 2020.

The Durban needle and syringe programme (NSP) by TB HIV Care had been suspended since May 2018. This was a decision by the local council as a result of fears about the disposal of needle and syringes issued by the TB HIV Care NSP programme.

Despite several NSP disruptions across the country, over the past years, TB HIV Care has reached more than 5000 PWIDs and distributed close to 2 million needles and syringes.
